Summary

"It gives me immense pleasure to have my first poetry book ITS MY LIFE published, Thanks to Cyberwit Publications. It's a beautiful compilation in prose which is a reflection of Love, Nature, Relationships and Life around you. Each poem introspects the way life is or should be as we love to always dream. Hence, this book includes poems which bind this beautiful bond of emotions with the readers best in rhymes. For me, Poetry is a way a poet shares his/her imagery through verses and also is a way to connect with your inner self and nurture your talent. I have thus penned each poem which is simple to read but deeper in sense. And as we are all born to love and expect same from others- Love is essence you will find and truly love in all poems I penned."

My verdict

Firstly, I would like to apologize for lagging behind on my reviews for the past couple of months. I've been so busy juggling  my architectural thesis submissions and my final portfolio and applying for my internship, I've almost literally become a baggy eyed, sleep deprived, super-caffeinated zombie. I have such a huge review pile built up now and I have no idea when I'll be able to finish it all. But man, do I love this!

So, now to the review. It's My Life... is a collection of poetry that has been written over the years and finally compiled into this fifty-five page volume. You can tell this without reading the blurb or synopsis first, by the way the form, character and strength of the words and their meanings develop and become deeper as you read further. The poems, to me, gave a sense of familiarity and most poems have the 'feel' of having come straight from the heart. While some poems towards the latter, more 'mature' half of the book, are on the melancholy side, most have a positive end, and make the reader feel a sense of hope, and a message to 'be strong'... 'keep going'...

Some of my personal favorites are 'My Love', 'Adrenaline Rush' and 'Umbilical Cord'.

Overall, I enjoyed the collection and would definitely recommend it to lovers of poetry on love and life.
